Last week you saw photos of my maternity session with Val. Well, it was really HER maternity session with me. Let’s just make that one clear…. 🙂 If you missed that post, then click }here{ It’s really sweet!

Val is the sweet wife of my awesome, handsome, smart, funny, kind and loving nephew Joe. They were married seven years ago (last week to be exact…) and are now expecting their second child — a girl! — and her name is Riley. How cute is that? Riley’s big brother, Cam, was on hand for the maternity session that was also a sweet family session with some heart-stopping father and son moments. We’re at Kettle Cove, on the beach, with a sunset. *sigh*

So feast your eyes on this wonderful family who I love with all my heart! They will soon be four, and we can’t wait!!

I’ll love you always.

Creating life is one of the most beautiful, most incredible, most extraordinary events to grace a person’s being and I sure love photographing it! My heart jumps at the honor of documenting such a special time in a person’s life, and when it’s Val, it’s pretty awesome! Val is very busy cooking up her 2nd baby (it’s a girl!) due this summer, and so she and her handsome husband and their happy-as-can-be little boy came up to Maine specifically for a styled maternity session with me. (Insert my squeal of delight here…)

After much discussion and preparation — the perfect-for-her dress (from Sew Trendy Accessories), the sweet floral crown (from Harmons), and some yummies with which to celebrate (from Whole Foods), we were ready on this beautiful early summer Saturday afternoon. We went to Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth … a place that, in my mind, offers everything a photographer could want (woods! beach! rocky coastline! sunset!) … OH! the beauty of it all! But nothing tops the beauty of Val … just look!

Right?? This post focuses on Val and her beautiful baby bump. Another post will be coming soon that shows off the entire family. In the meantime, enjoy the loveliness that is Val.

How long will I love you?

A second is too short. A second is no time for a love of this sort.

wolfe’s neck farm, freeport, maine maternity photographer | beautiful baby belly

Last summer I was so honored to photograph the wedding of Leigh and John. The celebration took place at Wolfe’s Neck Farm in Freeport — in the barn, and it was lovely! Fast forward several months and I get a message that they were expecting a baby! Woohoo! They enrolled in my Moms & Miracles program — 5 sessions for one price — that documents the baby’s first year from womb to one (sounds so Elmer Fudd-ish!). It’s a special program that shows the growth and all the mind-boggling changes of a little one in that first very fleeting year.

Anyhow, I adore these two so imagine my excitement at photographing them again, along with their growing family! I’m happy to report that this baby has already been born and photographed too! More of those images later. First, here is Leigh and John on their wedding day.

Well, that wedding was so much fun that we thought the Farm would be a great place for their maternity photos as well. It was a lovely spring evening in June with a sunset that didn’t disappoint! Leigh’s baby bump was the star, and we had a great time!

Such happiness awaits this couple, and I’m so happy that I can play a small part. Like my Facebook page to be sure and see pictures of their sweet little guy …. coming soon to a screen near you!

Massachusetts Maternity Photography; a baby on the way

the happiness of expecting

A few months back I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous beauty as she was getting ready to welcome her third child! Her first two are girls, and was now expecting a boy. A boy!! So when the forsythias were in bloom, we travelled just outside her back door so we could include her two beautiful girls in this maternity session. We then went to a nearby lake where the wind was blowing ever so slightly. We shot a few pictures there, and then found this gorgeous stone church and we knew we just had to stop.

Little baby Jax is now 2 months old and I just had the pleasure of photographing him a few days ago. Those images will be coming soon, but first, here he is still cookin’, and the little sisters who are so excited to welcome him into their world!

Maternity sessions are some of my favorite sessions. There’s a sweet, soft, loving look on the momma’s face, and I love the excitement that swirls around the upcoming event. Add really fun big sisters, and there it is …. my heart just melts.
